The project aims to develop reading package for the Learning-Teaching-Assessment (LTA) cycle with innovative and interactive pedagogical and assessment methods; investigate effectiveness of using LTA packages in enhancing the teaching, learning and assessment of reading in Primary Chinese; build the capacity of teachers and students to engage in assessment for and as learning through the above assessment tasks; enrich teachers’ knowledge of teaching reading strategies and assessing reading ability and improve their pedagogical skills as required in facilitating and assessing self-directed learning; and provide professional views and suggestions to EDB in promoting learning, teaching and assessment methods of reading strategies in the primary classrooms.
