The series of International Conferences on Han Character Education and Research is a long-term cross-border joint research collaborations since 2011, with 10 cross-border academic units from Mainland China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, Poland and Hawaii. Around 52 accepted abstract proposals had been presented at the event. Presenters were coming from Singapore, Hawaii, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc.

The Deputy Director of CACLER Dr. CH Lin delivered a short speech at Conference Opening. Prof. Li Guoying from Beijing Normal University also delivered a plenary speech on 數字化時代的漢字研究. The Researcher of CACLER Dr. Lam, Wai Ip presented her research on “Are there Core Frames across Languages? A frame linguistic perspective on vocabulary learning (跨語言核心概念框架與詞彙教學 – 從框架語言學的角度看)”. Dr. Hu Xiangqing and Prof. Tan Chee Lay (Nanyang Technological University), together with Dr. WI Lam and Prof. SK Tse, shared their research findings on “Assessments and Methods related to the Modern Development of Bilingual Reading Ability – Case Studies of the Singapore and Hong Kong Experiences". The related research has been published (現代雙語閱讀能力發展評估與方法 – 從新加坡和中國香港的經驗出發現代雙語閱讀能力發展評估與方法 – 從新加坡和中國香港的經驗出發).

Due to the latest situation of COVID-19, the Conference Secretariat finally decided to hold the conference online from May 6th to 7th.

In addition to the first author, the second and third authors, visitors and other participants are required to register individually.
